Memories and Mementoes, loosely based on current events, is a wondrous Christmas story that focuses on a family devastated by a series of political, personal and psychosocial events that threaten their very existence. Henri, an environmentalist, is trying to establish a corridor for the safe migration of endangered species in Mali. His advance logistics team is attacked by an ISIS faction and taken hostage.
Three months later, Henri offers himself in exchange for his friends.
Two weeks before Christmas.
Henri’s been gone for 6 months and his family is unravelling. They’ve collected unique and special Christmas ornaments for years, and they become the existential glue that gives his family hope for Henri’s safe return. One magical woman enters their lives who just might have the power to save them.Memories and Mementoes is a heart wrenching Christian tale of man’s search for meaning that will touch anyone who’s listened to the special stories ornaments can tell.
A story to share, A Special Tree is a heartwarming, emotive tale that will resonate with the entire family. Granddad, confined to the hospital, tells a special story to his granddaughter. Decades ago, just before Christmas, he lost his father to the war. His mother wasn’t able to keep their small farm going on her own, so her parents moved in to help. Granddad felt hopeless and lost until, with the help of his own grandfather, he discovered a very special secret about the power all Christmas trees hold.
Dear parents, Grandparents, Children, and readers of all ages,
Deliberately left without illustrations, A Special Tree was meant to be an interactive learning experience. The blank pages between the text are for two things. One, we encourage your child to draw whatever they’d like that hopefully represents something they garner from the story. Images from what they’re reading or listening to: a Christmas tree, a character, an ornament, a scene. Two, for slightly advanced/older children, the blank pages provide an opportunity to alter the text to something they feel is better, more precise, or perhaps meaningful and free flowing. In concert, these two engagements make the storytelling more interactive, personal, and educational.
Priced so every child will have the ability to be their own illustrator, A Special Tree is available well before Christmas and will make a wonderful gift to be treasured for a lifetime..
