I found The Innocent a difficult book to read due to the emotions it engendered. The book is evidently based on actual events but is predominantly fiction. It follows the lives of three children caught up in the world of human trafficking. At times I found the characters and situations too real, which made it upsetting. It is obviously a tale that must be shared. Mr Crowe has written a novel that is heart wrenching and deeply disturbing. However, he ensures there is always an element of hope. ~ Shaleen Boudra
