What I liked most about The Gryphon and the Greeting Card Writer was that it dealt with people who were realistic, and one can imagine meeting. They had clay feet, like we all do, and had suffered from “the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune” but through love, kindness, and mutual support were able to cope with the hardships life dealt them. I also like the Canadian setting and culture, like the role of snowmen in the story and the details that could only have come from living in our wonderful, slightly chilly country.
I appreciated a good story that showed the role imagination has in our daily life and the absence of violence and gratuitous sex. It made it seem much more real. It reminded me of the people in Whispers on Woodsmoke that were so much like the people we have all run into in our lives. It was hopeful and gave a strong message that who we are does not need to be determined by what had happened to us. Thanks for writing it and thanks for the recommendation. You have found your “calling”. ~ Dr. M. Grieve

Refreshing and weird. Commercial fiction with meaning. . . how odd. I hope there’s a Gryphon in my life. ~ Nancy Turcotte
